Korgi Book 1: Sprouting Wings! by Christian Slade

2.0

A young Molly (similar to a fairy) girl and her pet Korgi (who has magical abilities) live in alittle village full of Mollies and Korgis in the woods and have adventures. The only words are in the introduction and the cast of characters, the graphic novel is pencil illustration only. The detailed, beautiful illustrations will appeal to fantasy lovers and the dog is depicted perfectly--you can tell the author owns two himself. I would recommend this book to elementary age girls, and it's a wonderful teaching tool for kids, even older ones, who have difficulty interacting with a text. This is a good book to have a child narrate aloud, especially since there are so many tiny details to observe. The plot was very simple, and I'm hoping for a few more twists in the coming volumes, though I love that the Korgi discovers he can breathe fire!
