I’m not sure where to start in my thoughts on this, as they’re everywhere -positively so.
I loved the way this world was set up; a season personified hunts their predecessor to kickstart their own season, living freely until the next season shows up to kick their ass.
This gives the proper thrilling adventure, showing off the way it all works.
Then of course the cliché; the forbidden love of a season falling for their predecessor/successor within a flawed system. The yearning, the stolen glances and secrets, to the plan.
And the inevitable outcome; a rebellion started by breaking out, not all participants as willing as the next. Leading to a chase across countries and fights to die for.
It has all the elements for a great book, and it delivered
