Animal Farm by George Orwell

5.0

It was interesting reading this right after reading The Power. Both books bring to mind the maxim "power tends to corrupt, and absolute power corrupts absolutely," while also being immensely reflective of their own times and social issues. It makes sense that this is considered a classic. It is a fast, well-written read, replete with symbolism. The main moral of Animal Farm for me is (again a maxim) "those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it."
