Rebel's Creed by Daniel B. Greene

2.0

Improvements in a few areas, most notably plot but the characterization is non-existent. There are a few scenes that are cringe inducing (most notably the chess scene which doesn't belong in a high school english class let alone a published novel) and detract from the experience. There are parts of the world that are interesting (Grohalind, rebellion, police precinct drama) but they are half-baked and drowned in a sea of mediocre dialogue. I'm also not very interested in uber-powerful demigod characters with no counter balance. The character names are laughably bad to the point where your eye skims over them. I guess there are parts that are an improvement from the first novella in terms of writing skill but retelling the first book from other perspectives to pad out page length isn't going to do you any favors.
