Making Faces by Amy Harmon

4.0

Another well written young adult novel. Definitely doesn't dumb down it's subject matter just because the book is targeted to young people, and while I realized I was being manipulated with the way the story was written, I don't mind because I feel like the topics are so important to discuss. The concept of how to maintain faith when you have been faced with a loss so great that you can't fathom a belief in a just God was the portion that stuck out to me the most. I also appreciated the overarching story lines of what beauty truly means, and how to live the cards you are dealt with gusto. And basically, I loved every scene with Bailey and Ambrose because I loved that friendship and how it was written.
