Wow I LOVED THIS! What a perfect set up for the series!
I heard so many mixed reviews on this series especially the first book, so trust me when I say, you just have to read it for yourself to see if this is the style of writing/storyline that you enjoy!
For me, I absolutely love reading about an FMC that has absolutely been through it all and is going through a long and grueling fight to heal from her trauma and come into her own. And raven Kennedy wrote Aura perfectly in this book to show us she was going to do just that!
Was it slower? Yes. Was it dark? Yes. Was there romance? Nope. But this book was everything it needed to be. It told Auras story and showed her pain and abuse and made the reader feel her suffering. Is that easy to read? No. So I understand why this book isn’t for everyone. But for me personally, I can’t think of a better way to set up a story like this one and I am so excited to see where it takes me!
