South of the Border, West of the Sun by Haruki Murakami

5.0

When i read this book i was certian i was reading another "Norwegian Wood" till i began to feel like this isn't "Norwegian Wood". It was better. It was another experience i really loved it. I love when murakami makes those mysterious and unknown characters like shimamoto.

This book was for those who linger on the past and cant decide to move forward. Though it was amazing journey but still confused at the ending especially this sentence:

"Inside that darkness, I saw rain falling on the sea. Rain softly falling on the a vast sea, with no one there to see it. The rain strikes the surface of the sea, yet even the fish dont know it is raining. Until someone came and lightly rested a hand on my shoulder, my thoughts were of the sea"

this sentence made me realize that the book might have two different ending. And i guess i have to read it again to figure that out.

A solid 4.5/5 and ill definitely read this book again in the future
