Outlander by Diana Gabaldon

For the first time ever, I think a screen adaptation may turn out better than the novel. It started off great, but somewhere in the middle I lost interest and found other things more interesting to do than reading. A sure sign for me that it isn't that great. I persevered and I was really annoyed by the punishment part. She forgave him much too easily in my opinion. I also hate it when authors need to abuse their main characters. In this case the male, which was different, but I still found it unnecessary.
I will be interested to see how they cover that part in the tv series, because if they remove it, they will actually make it better. It finished in a way that makes me sort of want to continue the series. I may give it a go, and see whether the story line develops into something worth reading.
