Arena 13 by Joseph Delaney

I knew this book had a gladiator theme going on, but I definitely know it would be such a complex story, and that it wasn't gladiator fighting exactly. This story was set so far in the future that they had reverted back to Ancient times. I found myself re-reading passages with long explanations because I knew I just had to properly understand the definitions and how it worked.
This is so different to his other series, and I'm not sure if I'll buy the remaining two. I think I will, because this is a series I could re-read later.
The one thing that frustrated me about this novel was
SpoilerKwin and his relationship with her. Honestly, she is such a bitch. Why can't she be more like Teena? Kwin just thinks everyone is made to serve her, she has no manners, she just does what she wants and doesn't think there'll be consequences.
That romance was so unnecessary.
So annoying. Can't wait for her to be taught a proper lesson.

SpoilerHonestly him and Teena were so cute together. I knew as soon as there was a lottery that he would get picked. It would be considered too boring otherwise, I feel. I just wish it was more realistic.

Pleased I finally got around to reading this one :) Will continue with the series sometime soon.
