The Kingdom of Little Wounds by Susann Cokal

Vivedly detailed account of a medieval based scandanavian county, with sections by character. It has almost a medical ring to it, as many of the problems are based on the secession to the throne and some horrible diseases that plague the country and the royals. Characters are interesting and it is well written, but almost too descriptive for my tastes. Still, very well researched and like most fairy tales, rarely does a character have a happy ending
