How to Be Ace: A Memoir of Growing Up Asexual by Rebecca Burgess

5.0

This graphic novel was a present from my partner. And THANK GOD he gifted me it.

I'm both in the asexual spectrum AND the autism spectrum, so most (if not all) of the experiences Burgess describes happened word for word to me. I am SO happy I get to see my experiences in media, especially a wonderfully drawn novel like this. Media like this should be paid attention to, and I think it could be used as the blueprint for other diverse graphic memoirs.

As I said, the art in this book is beautiful with a wholesome touch. It feels cute yet heartbreaking at points. The art really does emanate Burgess' feelings off the page, and it makes it so accessible to read.

To Rebecca Burgess: Thank you for writing this. I can't wait to read more of your works.
