Heartless by Elsie Silver
4.25
This book did it for me!
Cade and Willa were the perfect match; they were by no means grumpy x sunshine but they complimented each other so well, that it was very hard not to love them. From their relationship with Luke (and how no matter what, they always put that kid first) to their undeniable chemistry from their first meeting, those two absolutely stole the show.
I just loved Willa’s character so much; she was powerful yet kind, stood her ground and still listened to others and most of all, I loved her quirks. They made her so unique, I don’t think I’ve read lots if any characters like her.
The thing ruining it for me was lowkey Cade. Don’t get me wrong, he was not bad at all but I hate it when authors made the mmc the ‘responsible’ one so much so that he always finds his desire for the fmc something bad and that practically ruins their relationship (also Cade had some moments where the comments he made were pretty misogynistic, not a fan of that either).
And gosh, I also hate it when they just undermine the fmc because of her age. It’s becoming repetitive in all age-gap books! Overall though, Heartless was a really good book and now, I’m even more excited to read the rest!
