At this point I might as well be a Freida McFadden fan page. Ward D was another fast paced, gripping thriller with plenty of twists and turns. The only pitfall for me was that the ending seemed to over before it really started, and I was hoping for a little more of a fight. That being said I didn’t manage to figure out what was going on before I got there, so I am still very impressed.
I’ve seen a few criticisms of the mental health representation in this book and I can see where they’re coming from. However, as this book is from Amy’s point of view, I can see it more as her trying to create a divide between the patients on the ward and herself - as Amy is also having hallucinations . So yeah, I saw it more as a cognitive dissonance thing than bad rep.
Overall, a good solid read that was quick to get into and kept me hooked right through!
