TLDR: Better than the Pumpkin Spice Cafe in that it was less insta love and less random shenanigans, but holy miscommunication trope.

Spoilers below -
This book had wayyy too much miscommunication as the primary plot device, and the ending was wilding.. marriage bro? After y’all spent like two months unable to have the most normal conversation? Like WHY didn’t Noah just tell Hazel he was leaving TEMPORARILY to help his sister out?? Why does everything have to be SO HARD. Maybe STOP having sex and just have ONE conversation. IM BEGGING YALL

I do like that Dream Harbor and the townspeople felt more real in this novel though. And the romance was intriguing with some very cute moments (the love declaration through books was✨ 🤌🏾✨). But half of the conflicts were resolved with very little effort from the characters (Noah spends the entire book angsting about his Dad not being proud of him, and this is resolved by a FaceTime call where his dad just says “I’m proud of u 😀👍) and the other half were resolved by JUST. COMMUNICATING. Seriously, both of these people had 0 brain cells. And while it was clearly hinted that Hazel has anxiety and Noah has ADHD, it’s never like… addressed. So they’re just going to limp along into marriage with their various unresolved issues 😀 cool cool cool.

Finally, this book needed an editor because the grammar and sentence structure was rough.

overall 🤷‍♀️ a cute summery turn your brain off read. Will I be reading the Annie and Mac 2025 tie in ft. Jeanie and Logan’s wedding? …yes, yes i will.
