3.5

I would have loved to have rated this book in the 4 stars region as the writing is amazing, but OHMYGOD it was SO slow in the beginning, honestly it was WAY TOO SLOW.

I wanted to stick with it to find out why it had such great reviews and I agree that the story was good and the author is very talented - but I would have DNF'd this due to the pacing and pointless in depth insignificant details throughout the first half of the book if not for my insistence of finding out what happened. I loved the details at first but it reached a point where it made me mad because although the authors writing was captivating, it just kept going and going and going and it lost its appeal. The book didn't need to be 500 pages long.

I'm glad I'm finished but I'm resentful about the pacing and will be giving this book away.

There were a lot of characters involved in this book but I was only really interested in the Armstrong family.

I'm really glad the ending was well wrapped up and I feel complete.
