How the Grump Saved Christmas by Claire Kingsley

3.0

I feel bad when I read a book when I am not feeling well because I cant tell if I am not loving it or just brain dead. It was a very cute heart warming story. It's a Hallmark mixed with a Christmas Carole, but it just fell a little flat for me.

Isabella was bragged as a stubborn but for Elias she is almost a complete pushover except when it comes to the family the farm. Elias is a textbook scrooge. Abandon by his parents and taken in by his aunt and uncle and finally experiencing love. These two go through some wild twists and turns I did not see coming. The book flash backs between where they are now and some brief moments from their time growing up together. While there are some entertaining parts, a lot of times I just kind of got bored.

I am interested to see the rest of the series How The Grump Saved Christmas takes place in the middle of goes. This book takes place in the middle of the Bailey Brother's series. As a northwest born and raised girl, I love the Washington connection, and I think that held me on a lot longer then I might have normally. Very cute if you are looking for a holiday read, but can get a little boring.
