Original review at Gabic Reads. Part of the Clayton Falls Blog Tour.

Derailed is a book about healing. Molly has lost the three most important men in he laugh. Her father died on the train tracks, and she's unsure if it was suicide or an accident. She broke it off with her boyfriend of three years Ben after he failed to come when she heard about her father. And her fiance Adam jumped off a bridge. Now Molly can't find any meaning in law school, in life. So she decides to move back home, back to where Ben still lives, though she's sure he hates her.

Ben has waited for Molly to come back to him. He still loves her, even after their awful break-up. I loved Ben. He was sweet and caring. I loved how he took care of her when she was sick and was completely patient with her. He never pressured her into anything and knew her perfectly, even after all these years.

Molly thinks she's poison to all the men in her life. After all, she's the reason Adam and her father killed themselves. Right? When Ben learns that Molly blames herself, he helps her understand that it's not her fault, she didn't make that decision for either of them. And besides, her father might not have killed himself; there was no note and no investigation.

Derailed was full of funny moments and painful memories. You'll not only love the main characters, but the supporting characters as well. Jake, Ben's brother, loves to fight with Molly and purposely provokes her. Kelley is Molly's best friend and is getting married to Tom, a cop, on the same day Molly was supposed to. Tom sets Molly up with his partner Gavin, thinking they'll hit it off.

Alyssa's writing is beautiful and eloquent and I can't wait to read more from her. I will definitely be reading Becca and Gavin's story in Veer.
