Thunder Dog: The True Story of a Blind Man, His Guide Dog, and the Triumph of Trust at Ground Zero by Michael Hingson

5.0

I really enjoyed this book. It was very eye opening to read about the past of the author and growing up blind and all the things that he did. While yes you would believe that the book is to be about how the guide dog guiding his owner out of the towers that fateful day, there is also so much more to it. I enjoyed learning about how guide dogs were picked and trained and found all of the things that Michael did growing up inspring so that he would not be just another blind person. It helped me to see that there are so many things that you can do in spite of a disability. I think it is amazing that he was able to survive the 9/11 attacks and shared his story with others. It was a great read.
