Cop Town by Karin Slaughter

I thought it was a bit cliched, but that didn't stop me from reading it to the end. However, I have noticed that many contemporary mysteries, and this is one of them, tend to be a little shoddy about leaving clues about the perpetrator of the crime. Authors leave very little details and then generally surprise the reader at the end with very little motive. At least this novel does present a motive, though a tenuous one.
