Math Fables Too: Making Science Count by Taia Morley, Greg Tang

5.0

The preceding book, Math Fables, was great for my seven-year-old. He loves animals. The engaging illustrations and text gave him repeated exposure to addition facts up to ten without him really noticing the "mathiness" of it. Math Fables Too is even better for him, because he is a science-lover. It does the same thing (using addition combinations up to ten) but also includes interesting scientific facts about the animals used in the book. These books don't contain a whole lot of text. My son wanted to read Math Fables Too to himself instead of having it read aloud.

Greg Tang's books are beautiful as well as functional. As long as we don't venture too far above his head in the math concepts used in Tang's books, my son loves them.
