The Little Things by Jessica Prince
5.0
I had the pleasure of listening to and reading The Little Things and both were fantastic. The narrators did a great job bringing the emotions through the hard parts of Zach's journey to healing and Rae's unwavering love and support for him through it.
The Little Things was a beautiful story of redefining your future while discovering yourself, who you want to be and what's really important in life. It proves the old saying "Home is where the heart is" to be true.
After an epic error in judgment, Rae's parents send her packing to Virginia and Safe Haven Ranch. She's given no choice other than to get her life together. I loved how quickly she took to the ranch and small town life. She really embraced the peace and tranquility.
Zach is the owner and operator of Safe Haven Ranch with a childhood tarnished by foster home abuse that left deep scars. Even though he has a happy life and adopted family that loves him, there are triggers that bring old woulds to the surface.
Rae and Zach have less than friendly initial encounters even though they are instantly attracted to one another. That attraction grows until the tension gets to be too much and Zach claims his woman in all senses of the word. It's a race to forever after that. Zach knew what he wanted and wasn't letting anything get in his way, not even Rae's hesitation that they were moving too fast.
When Zach's past comes back to haunt him in a terrifying way, Rae proves that she's not only a changes woman, but someone that can be counted on. She proved to be Zach's hero while realizing how much she loved him in the process.
It's so easy to focus on all the big things in life but if yo slow down and take it all in, it's the little things that matter the most.
I adored everything about Zach and Rae's journey and all the family and found family of Safe Haven Ranch. I'm really looking forward to more from this series.
