Jade can't catch a break. She even tried to change her name to change her fate--call her Jennifer now. She trudged home to Proofrock, to a world that left her behind four years ago, and tried to make a fresh start. Fate wasn't having it.
Her homecoming is ruined by the arrival of a new slate of horrors that put her back into Slasher-freak mode, and, AGAIN, she is fighting for her life. The mother of all snowstorms has descended, there's a serial killer on the loose, and the past won't stay buried. Plus, she has to deal with super-fans now, which is strange.
Jade was hard to relate to in the first book, but she was my favorite here. Her growth, her love, her vulnerability was magical. The slasher references were always on point. The twists and turns had me on the edge of my seat, and screaming "of course!!" when it was all (mostly) revealed. It was quite a ride, and I am very excited to read the next installment!
