Beneath the Loch by S.D. Simper

“Kiss his cheek if you must, to earn his trust. Remove all suspicion of your intentions. Tonight, he’ll be nothing but a memory.”
This was a creepy little short story. It was a quick read about a forbidden friendship turned love. A little girl meets and forms a friendship with a fae in the river. When the fae is attacked by her family and the towns people she thinks the fae girl is gone. Fast forward many years and the women stumbles upon the same fae. A deal is made and them some violence and spice ensues. I enjoyed this read but felt it was not quite a complete story. I think I would have enjoyed it a lot more if it was a full length novel.
