Butcher & Blackbird by Brynne Weaver

STORY (3.5 stars)
AUDIO PERFORMANCE (5 stars)

Butcher and Blackbird is one of only two dark romances I've read, and I have to say, I really liked this one.

I listened to it as an audiobook, and I believe that was the right choice. The audiobook was eargasmic! The narrators really elevated the experience for me. I don’t think I would have appreciated it as much in any other format.

The story follows Rowan (Butcher) and Sloane (Blackbird), who meet by chance and discover that they have an unconventional common ground – they’re serial killers who hunt other serial killers.

At its core, this is a love story, and I found the romance surprisingly charming. Is it weird to call a serial killer book charming? lol

Although Sloane and Rowan have an instant attraction, the romance is actually a slow burn, which I appreciated. But be warned, once that slow burn ignites
Spoiler(around 50% in), it’s non-stop seggs – like, literally, NON-STOP.
LMAO.

The little twist at the end was fun too!

It's not too dark for a dark romance so it's definitely palatable for those who are new to the genre.

Is it worth the hype? I think so!
I recommend giving it a go in audiobook format.
