The Mad Ship by Robin Hobb

5.0

I can’t believe it took me this long to finish the book but I guess that’s just how things are now. I have too many hobbies and not enough time to engage in them being an adult or whatever. But anyway. WOW. That’s all I can say is wow.

I honestly don’t remember what I thought at the start of the book, but through the middle I enjoyed it, but struggled through it. There’s a LOT happening, so many different stories lines to keep track of and to see where they’ll converge and depart from one another. It’s seriously incredible the way Robin Hobb has written this. I don’t think I’ve read all that much like it, except perhaps ASOIAF but even then that’s so different again.

Anyway. By the time I got to the end and so MUCH started happening, all of the live ship stuff really fully starts to unfurl and the significance of the Vestrit family is shown, I couldn’t put it down and was so mad that I had other things to do this weekend and I had to stop reading 2 chapters from the end.

I was going to read something else next to have a break from the big thick fantasy but I so badly need to know what happens next so..l can’t wait to see how this trilogy ends. And then how it links back with the Farseer stuff and yeah!!!
