I was sent this book as part of a subscription with NinjaBox and I am so glad that I was. The writing in it was beautiful and even though on times you could tell that it had been translated, it didn’t spoil the powerful message and impact that these short stories put across. Of course, with this being an anthology, there are always some that are better than others and some that just stick with you.

This book was short in itself and to think that it then contain 10 short stories, you would think that they wouldn’t be that well put together. That the stories would feel short and rushed, but this book didn’t feel like that at all! This surprised me because that’s usually my problem with short stories. In fact, one of my favourite stories in the book, Red Lights, was literally only 3 pages long.

It was missing that something, some of the stories that weren’t as good, that just stopped it from being a 5/5 stars, which I wish I could’ve given it. There are more books in the series, which I cant wait to read; Book of Tokyo, Book of Rio, Book of Istanbul and so on.
