Republic Under Siege: Threat from Within by Michael J. Brooks

3.0

I want to preface this review that I didn't read the first in this series. It read well as a standalone, but might have gotten more insight and character development if I hadn't went in to it blind. I really liked Akane's character as she is a young woman trying to figure out life. The poor thing was surrounded by so much loss, but it helped build her in to the stubborn woman she was and helped mold her values for change.

All in all a decent story but some areas of the book felt a little out of order and confusing. Some chapters were hard to follow and I would then realize we were jumping time lines.

I give this 3 stars, thanks to Michael Brooks for an advanced copy.
