Shutter by Ramona Emerson

mysterious slow-paced

3.25

The majority of this book was a slow burn, but I liked learning about Rita and her family. I liked putting together the little bits and pieces from the scenes she worked as a forensic photographer. The last 15% of the story has most of the action. Unfortunately, that’s also where it lost me. Things felt forced and unrealistic; even the writing style seemed subpar in comparison to everything before that point. That being said, this was a debut novel and I definitely liked enough to check out this author’s future work.
