This was a rather chill and sedated mafia book from my limited experience. So it was more up my alley than they normally are.

I enjoyed Gulia's character and was proud of her for standing her ground against Cassio. although she was young she was actually quite mature for her age. It was awesome to see Cassio and Guilia's relationship bloom and a real connection starting to be formed. Guilia was so sweet with the kids, and honestly, this girl blew me away.

However, the age difference weirded me out a bit. I had to pretend I didn't know that part lol. It was also a little cringey how "possessive" Cassio was in. the beginning even when they weren't truly close with one another yet. Likeeee how awkssss..... you don't have a right to feel possessive if you don't have feelings yet!

Not to mention the book dragged a smidge in the middle, and Cassio referring to her as a teenager in the first quarter really messed with my head. It just made me feel weird about the age gap I was trying to erase from my mind.

I was a bit disappointed the book ends with a NINE-YEAR JUMP. Why did the author do nine years later? In addition, I feel like there wasn't a true conflict or big event in the book. Since this was a mafia book I was waiting for some huge conflict to arise and lots of angst, anger etc etc.

There was none of that. There was a small blip towards the end that was resolved without a fight.

Obviously, a good portion of the relationship was filled with sex, so if that is your cup of tea give this book a read!
