The Winter Witch by Paula Brackston
4.0
So I wake up at around 2:30am and at first just lay there with my eyes closed. Half an hour later and sleep still eluded me. So I decided to read a bit thinking it'll tire me out or tire my eyes and I can try again. Was not the case because where I had left off was very fast paced and exciting. I finished the book and suddenly it's 4:15am.
What a great read. Yes the majority of it was slow but the nuances and hints of magic kept me going. Plus I loved Paula Brackston's writing style. It seemed poetic and made everything sound beautiful even the depressing harsh winter that was conjured by that wicked opposition. I liked that even though Morgana was mute I was still able to care for her as a character and care about her.
I would definitely want to pick up another of Paula Brackston's books. Maybe [b:Lamp Black, Wolf Grey|23014879|Lamp Black, Wolf Grey|Paula Brackston|https://d.gr-assets.com/books/1422634881s/23014879.jpg|9876647] because that sounded like it had some Arthurian legend in it.
