The Rift Walker by Clay Griffith
3.5
Not that I didn't know this going in, but it has lots of old English words I keep having to Google. That's not necessarily bad, as it's expanding my vocabulary and matches where and when the book is set, but it interrupts the flow a bit when I have to look something up every couple chapters. If you are used to books set in this time, that probably won't be a problem for you, though.
It's a little irritating how Americans are portrayed. "His loud, American voice boomed." And how uncivilized they keep saying he is because he's from America. Things like that.
This probably isn't a problem for anyone else, but I detest multiple wives. I don't want to read about it at all, so I rounded it down a star.
There were some pretty crazy and exciting plot twists!
I like the story quite a bit, and the character development is amazing. I can't say much else without spoilers, but it's exciting and worth the read.
