The Seven Necessary Sins for Women and Girls, by Mona Eltahawy

This was a very interesting read. It really shifted my perspective. It was challenging in a way that was informative. Even when it was uncomfortable, it was self aware and reminded you that as a reader you should be uncomfortable with the patriarchy and the violence and control it wields against women. I really appreciated the intersectionality in this book and how it addresses that we cannot smash the patriarchy without also addressing and dismantling racism, homophobia, and classism.
Moderate: Xenophobia, Islamophobia, Rape, Racism, and Sexual assault
