The Conference of the Birds by Ransom Riggs

2.75

This book was a huge letdown! This book had nothing out of the ordinary, no peculiar, with a weak plot and an aggravating love triangle. I must say that this is the worst book out of all.

I'm exhausted. Frustrated with series continuations that merely suck the content from the original series away and destroy what was done. I'm sick of authors who are so lazy that they can't even come up with a new villain.

This novel was completely flat. The characters were lifeless and uninteresting. The strange environment, which was previously so exciting and unique, now feels dead, as if all the enchantment has been sapped from it. The images interspersed throughout the story feel cheap and unrelated to the story, as opposed to the original trilogy.

I'm also not a fan of the romance's trajectory in this. Why did this have to exist? This was something that no one desired.

Sometimes a story should just finish when it should, which in this case was Library of Souls. That was a beautiful conclusion. This second trilogy was completely unnecessary. And now I'm losing interest in the series. I'm disappointed.
