The Female Persuasion by Meg Wolitzer

3.0

There seems to be a trend lately, where books have to be sweeping in scope and tell the story of several characters, when really I think they would be better served to focus on only the main character, or maybe one other. The chapters about the boyfriend and the friend in Chicago dragged for me, and I kept wondering if I could fast-forward them without missing anything (I could have). Overall, the writing is great but this book was too long, and ended too preachy and pat.
