The Left Hand of Darkness by Ursula K. Le Guin

"one is respected and judged only as a human being."

i am so glad i decided to get this with my gift card. its a dense book, full of terms that im not familiar with, stunning descriptions of the winter planet, and lush lore and tales. i see myself annotating and writing in this on rereads, so im glad i have a physical copy. as i read, le guin transported me to a vivid, chilly world, one that i could picture in my mind so clearly, it was almost as if i was watching a movie. by the end, i was sad (for many reasons) but mostly because my journey with ai and estraven was over.
