Honestly, I devoured this in a day, maybe even slightly less. I have no idea what the author put in this but I could not stop reading it. I kept telling myself ‘one more chapter’ as my eyes burnt at three am but I just couldn’t do it.
Stella and Wyatt’s chemistry was off the charts; do not get me started on the sexual tension but their witty banter and hilarious interactions made me burst out in laughter so many times! I did identify a lot with Stella’s hesitancy for new things and inability to plan ahead but it was so refreshing to watch her come out of her shell in a way that wasn’t bad to her and her mental health. Wyatt was the perfect gentleman but I have to admit, it was his humour that did for me (not that Stella wasn’t funny, her thoughts were the best but there was just something about Wyatt trying to make her fun without being pushy and disrespectful that was just chef’s kiss).
Of course, I cannot forget about Stella’s best friend Noor who practically carried the whole book. She was so thoughtful and kind and practically screamed every reader’s thoughts at the main characters. Without her, I don’t know what those two would do!
Overall, an amazing debut novel by Mara, full of laughter, romance, friendships and of course, revenge!
