Positive: A Memoir by Paige Rawl, Ali Benjamin, Jay Asher
5.0
I wanted to read this book as an option for our first year common read. I was not disappointed. Paige's story flows off the pages in heart-breaking and anger inducing detail. Her struggle is all too real for young people these days. I think her story is important. Change HIV positive to anything else and you have the story of many children, teens, and young adults today.
This is an important book with an important message. Bullying is never right and adults have to be the standard-bearers for fairness and anti-bullying messages or society descends to animalistic behaviors that endanger us all.
I will be recommending this book as our FYE book.
