Greed by Shelly Bell
4.0
Greed – White Collared Part Two by Shelly Bell is a 2014 Avon Red Impulse publication. I was provided a copy of this book by the publisher and Edelweiss in exchange for an honest review.
The first book in this steamy e-series ended on a disturbing and ominous note. Kate pulls herself together despite her boss being very worried, and continues on with her plans with Jaxon. She and Jaxon go “undercover” to the BDSM club Jaxon and his wife once frequented looking for answers about his wife's murder.
We learn a little more about Kate's background and the ethical no no she has jumped into head first continues despite the possibility it could all blow up at any moment. Once again we are left with a bit of disturbing and curious information about Jaxon's past and are left wondering if we should trust him.
I loved the first book and have high hopes for the e-series. I know the readers are looking for hot erotica and the author won't disappoint you. For some it could be pretty hot stuff, while others may feel the temperature is just now getting a little warm. My opinion is that we are just getting started and this chapter just gave the reader a small glimpse of what will happen next. The suspense element took a little while to get going in this one and it seemed to be sort of on a back burner for most of the book. However, we started the book off with intense courtroom drama and ended the book with yet another chilling reminder that all may not be as it seems. So, until next time....
The need to set up the apparent mutual sexual exploration between Jaxon and Kate took up a good portion of the book this time. The fact that they both like to experiment and play sex games helps Kate in her new undercover role in the clubs. However, for me this story started to lose it's momentum a bit when this part carried on just a little too long before we got back the reality part, which is that Jaxon is accused of murdering his wife. Once we got back on track with that part of the story, the pace really picked up again. So, for this one I'm going with a 3.5 rounded to 4.
