The Da Vinci Code (Young Adult Adaptation) by Dan Brown

4.0

I thoroughly enjoyed this book and the many mysteries that it slowly picked apart. It was a unique concept and initially not what I expected I would enjoy. While the idea of cryptography seemed interesting I was skeptical of the focus on religion (a topic I usually do not choose to read about). I was pleasantly surprised. I became engaged with each clue and while it was not possible for me to ever figure one out, I enjoyed watching Robert and Sophie do so themselves. I love thriller and mystery books like this, with plot twists left and right, but up until now these novels mainly consisted of simpler young adult books. I am happy to have found one that is more complex and even touches on heavier topics. While it was arguably quite unrealistic, it was such a captivating storyline with such intricately crafted characters and immense detail that is incredibly impressive.
