Tough one to review. One MC is a cop which is very prevalent, so for those who wont read cop MCs, this is out. And we see him on duty a lot, although he mostly seemed to be pulling drivers over.
What I liked:

What I liked:
- Geoff (cop) was really careful and reassuring with Asher and made him feel safe to actually say what he did or didn’t want
- No anal in MM, and not because of trauma, just wasn’t Asher’s thing, and it was nbd for Geoff
- Showing how men respond to abuse. In Asher’s case, worried about his perceived masculinity as a pro athlete, and for Geoff, is emotional/financial abuse “bad enough”
What I got hung up on:
- Weirdly accurate but almost overly detailed Seattle setting. Like, Lake City to a T, but also do we need all the detail on which highways were taken? Also I’m not sure anywhere on Mercer island is high enough to see both Baker and Rainier over the trees/cities. Plus name dropping every other pro team.
- Geoff was so worried about his kids and Laura (ex wife) had a family therapist, but they didn’t use therapy until wayyyy late.
Other random notes:
- Age gap plays minimal role in the plot
- Always like when the ex is not an antagonist
Moderate: Domestic abuse and Emotional abuse
