Zero Repeat Forever by G.S. Prendergast

Zero Repeat forever is a retelling of Beauty and the Beast with an alien invasion, teens surviving and a frustrating story. I've realized that I don't really care for the Beauty and the Beast story, and especially not here where it really renforces the idea that it's not love but Stockholm syndrome.
The book is told from 2 perspectives, the human girl, Raven, and the alien, Eighth. It does this pretty well however most of the time I found it would tell what's happening from Raven's perspective of not understanding Eighth, than explain it poorly from Eighth's perspective. In the end it just felt a bit frustrating and like it took twice as long to get anywhere.
There were brilliant parts of the story but extremely few and far between. It's set up for a sequel but I don't really feel like I need to read the sequel. the big mystery wasn't really that surprising when it was shown off and wasn't made such a big deal of unitl the final few chapters, so I just didn't feel any excitement or attachment.
If you want a pretty decent retelling of Beauty and the Beast but with aliens, pick it up, it's not a bad read I just found it long and frustrating at times.
