A Broken Betrothal by Rose Pearson

4.0

I like Rose Person's romances because the plots are often imaginative and not typical of the regency genre. In this story, the heroine is betrothed to someone she immediately dislikes, mainly because he was not of her choosing. Lord Pendleton is ready to sign the papers to betroth himself to Lady Augusta but when she snubs him and his brother suddenly dies, he is determined to find a way to end the betrothal. Lady Augusta realizes she may have been too hasty in rejecting her fiancé. When Lord Pendleton finds himself in embarrassing situations, Lady Augusta comes to his rescue and determines to win him over.

An enjoyable quick read with likeable characters and a good plot. This series is starting off really well and I'm looking forward to reading the next book.
