Someone Who Will Love You in All Your Damaged Glory by Raphael Bob-Waksberg

5.0

This is a phenomenal collection of tales from the creator of Bojack Horseman, Raphael Bob-Waksberg. Every story is delightfully unique and tinged with melancholy, never quite happy or sad in its ending. A few stories that especially stand out in my opinion are Up-and-Comers, The Average of All Possible Things, and More of the You That You Already Are.

These ones in particular do an excellent job at capturing all the joys, confusion, pitfalls, and small victories of living life, that even in the zaniest of situations like an alt band that gains superpowers the more drunk its members get or a story entirely written from the perspective of a dog, several truisms still ring...true.

Life is hard, we’re all doing our best, we deserve to be loved, and it’s okay to be sad.

If you are looking for a book that will make you feel things and is endlessly relatable to boot, this is your book. I can’t recommend strongly enough.
