De acht bergen by Paolo Cognetti

this was one of the most well-written books i’ve read this year. the use of language is beautiful; so descriptive, so nostalgic. it makes you feel as if you’re exploring the alps yourself, and as if you know these people. i love stories that span a lifetime, so i really enjoyed seeing bruno and pietro grow up, and watching as their friendship grew over the years. for a second i thought it was a “brokeback mountain” kind of story, but i think maybe this connection ran even deeper.
i just know that this is one of those stories that is going to stay with me for a long time.
