Hannah Gold is so good at describing a magical bond between a child and an animal! It's such a good kind of fairytale and had I been a child, this book would have endlessly inspired me to save the world.
I've also noticed she is quite harsh and realistic about how bad adults can be at parenting and I'm not sure what I think about this yet.
Lastly I know that we all need to do our part in saving the world, but I feel ambivalent about putting that strain and feeling of helplessness on the shoulders of children.
