Beach Read by Emily Henry

This was so endearing and sweet and lovely. I loved both January and Gus. I liked the slow kinda burn we got. Fantastic read.
It gets only 4 stars though, because chapter 23 made me want to put down the book and not pick it back up. But it’s so close to the ending I just pushed through after that.
When you’re characters are at the site of tragedy, where a cult leader literally burned down all of these trailers with the followers still inside… maybe I don’t know… not the time or place to get it on. Especially when the chapter itself has been building to this emotional story for the c plot… I don’t know it just doesn’t make me squeal, giggle, or kick my feet happy to see two characters in love and I kinda hated reading that chapter. They could have had the emotional conversation and that intimate moment at about a million other places. But yeah.
Anyways, rest of the book was great, just didn’t need that specific chapter. Will try at least one other Henry book, hopefully no more graveyard type stuff.
