The Wind from Nowhere by J.G. Ballard

4.0

I went into this with the knowledge that Ballard himself discarded this as his first novel and after reading the first two chapters I was ready to discard it myself and call it “hackwork”.

But I am one who reads the whole book just to see if something exciting happens and I was glad that I stuck with it and finished because man it was intense and actually quite interesting when you get into it.

And I think it was the best novel to finish my Ballard novel reading challenge with, because it’s nice to see how his writing was in his first novel and how his writing evolves over the course of the other 18 novels.
