This book was recommended to me by other books that I had read and the general consensus was that it was a very good book. So I checked out some reviews.
MY FIRST THOUGHT:
Um Slam poetry??? yeesh, no thanks. Not for me.
Well I am certainly glad that I decided to read it anyway. Still, slam poetry is NOT for me, but it was beautifully written.
I am not generally a shy person, but never in my life would I be able to stand on stage in front of ANYONE and recite a poem that I had to perform using my body as well as my voice. UGH, nope!!!
ASIDE from that, this was an absolutely a beautiful story. I am a sucker for the will they won't they/push you away but I secretly love you love story.
The amount of loss that both Lake and Will have had to endure, and will continue to endure is heartbreaking.
This story wasn't as juvenile as it could have been which I liked.
All in all this was a beautifully written love story about loss and acceptance, fighting for what you want and what you need. I truly enjoyed it and am looking forward to the next book.
