Another well-illustrated & fun book by Jane Yolen.
Aliera, the fairy queen's champion, gets kidnapped by trolls & must be rescued by her liege-man, Avery...who is an annoying & cloying classmate. At least, that's what he appears to be when he's in the light. Baba Yagga makes an appearance, and Aliera's cousin gets dragged into her exploits with the Queen's enemies.
This was a great 2nd book w/ lots of action. My 10 yr old was thrilled with it. Personally, I found the lack of patience of either Aliera or Avery to be irritating, but I suppose it's an accurate portrayal of teenagers. :)
