I liked the premise of this book, but the execution was lacking. I didn't like the switching of povs, especially when it swapped from the MMC to the MMCs daughter. You could tell the author didnt really know how to write from a teenage girls perspective, and it was a bit cringey in some parts.
The pace of the plot is interesting, it was both too slow (in adding the different povs) and then too fast for the remaining 1/3 of the book. It felt like more development needed to go into building the suspense before the MMC made his final, definitive, act of the book.
The ending was both a bit sad and touching at the same time. It resolves itself as much as possible for a novel in the horror genre. If you're into extreme gore, horror, secret government labs, yet are willing to overlook quite a few pacing and development flaws, definitely try it out.
